Muslims to find a mortgage online

Islamic banking customers can now consult a new website when they are trying to find a mortgage that complies with their religion.

The UK-based Islamic Mortgages website provides information about the Islamic mortgages available in the country.

Those hoping to find a mortgage can access details about these mortgages at a glance and free of charge. There is no need to consult a mortgage broker or to pay extra fees, as the contact details of mortgage lenders are made available.

Britain's 2.5 million Muslims can find a mortgage on the website that complies with Shariah, the Islamic law that forbids earning or paying interest.

A number of mortgage lenders have however launched mortgages that comply with this law and their mortgage deals can be searched for on the new mortgage website.

The website guarantees visitors hoping to find a mortgage: You will find what you are looking for.

Other features include the history of Islamic mortgages, the opinions of key scholars, market news and events.

We hope to make the site the central point of information on Islamic Mortgages to the British Muslims and for the first time to help to clarify what it means to have an Islamic based mortgage product, the website's marketing director, Nusrat Janjua, told Mortgage Introducer.
